Characteristics of Flipchart

Now that we have seen the importance of using a flipchart in the classroom, let’s move to the variety of characteristics it has.
This amazing tool catches the student’s attention because is very creative and fun. Flipcharts the most of the time are very colorful and this makes that the students put interest on what is being taught. It is formed of a set of long papers, and they should not exceed more than 15 papers. In these papers is very recommended that you only put the most important information that you want to teach, otherwise students could get bored. Also you can make funny drawings, arrows, paste pictures, etc.  Those sheets of papers that are held by a tripod are joined with a ring at the top of it.
In the first page of the Flipchart we put the name of the lesson or the topic that you want to develop, then you start writing on the next sheet explaining the topic, and this idea will be complemented with the next sheet, and so on.
Another characteristic is that they can be recycled because you can store them, so at the end of the semester you reinforce the topics that you have already developed in the class.

As you have read they are a very easy resource to do, and they are cheap, it does not cost more than 20 dollars.
There are different types of flipcharts, depending of the materials you use, some of them are made with different types of paper
The materials for this resource is easy to get as well. Another important thing is that you can take it with you wherever you go, even those places where there is no electricity because it is totally handmade, you just place it somewhere and start giving the class.

  2. Kathy and I think that making flipcharts taking in consideration their characteristics is very easy. Students get bored if you as a teacher always uses the board, so making creative flipcharts can really motivate your students to learn.

  3. This kind of resources are very useful for teaching, through the yeas go on, because you may re-use them to give many classes, and once you have made your own flipchart it will be with
The topics well organized. The use of figure sticks into the vocabulary and using PPP guidelines are some interesting aspects to interact and catch your students's attention.
